SAM Architects is a young firm of Architects based in Peckham first established by Melanie Schubert and Sandi Johnen in 2012.

Melanie and Sandi both studied Architecture in Germany and Italy and have been working in London since 2000 for a variety of  well known Architects such as David Chipperfield, Duggan Morris, Conran & Partners, AHMM and Grimshaw Architects.

Each member of SAM brings their own unique set of skills and experience to the team. This collective knowledge hugely benefits each project and results in a thorough and considered design process.

We work closely with our clients and other consultants to efficiently deliver projects of the highest quality across a broad range of typologies and scales

Our design solutions are uncomplicated, cost-effective, functional and innovative; rigorous research and good craftsmanship underpins our work. Our work ranges from small residential, interior and furniture design projects to large commercial and masterplanning projects throughout the UK and Europe.

We love the really small Project just as much as the really big ones. Every Project brings new challenges and that’s what we love about our work. Our focus is on delivering unique projects that respond to their settings, are environmentally efficient and beautifully executed. We firmly believe that good design adds value.
